About the Authors Kristen den Hartog is the author of the critically acclaimed novels And
Me Among Them, Water Wings, The Perpetual Ending, and Origin
of Haloes. She lives in Toronto, Canada. The Occupied Garden
was written with her sister, Tracy Kasaboski, in an attempt to preserve
the family’s dramatic wartime experience, which was rarely spoken
of when the authors’ grandparents were still living. Tracy Kasaboski
was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, and now resides in Deep River, Canada.
The sisters are now at work on a new collaboration, this time chronicling
their mother's family's story during WW1 in England.
