News

  • The Occupied Garden will be published in the United States by Thomas Dunne Books in spring 2009.
  • The Occupied Garden was chosen as one of 50 books to see you through the summer by the National Post. The list also includes Ernest Hillen's two "perfect memoirs," Way of a Boy and Small Mercies, re-released this spring.
  • The Dutch version of The Occupied Garden will be released in the Netherlands in August 2008 by Artemis & Co., under the title De Kinderen van de Tuinder, which means "the children of the gardener." Watch for the Dutch-language site coming soon.

  • The book launch for the Canadian version of The Occupied Garden was a roaring success in Deep River, Ontario, the authors' hometown and the current residence of Tracy Kasaboski. Tracy and Kristen signed copies of the book, as expected, but so did the "characters" in attendance. Rige and Nick, eldest and youngest in The Occupied Garden, came from Holland for the launch; middle brothers Rokus and Gerry came from the United States and Canada; and Koos -- Jim, the authors' father -- traveled all the way from Borneo. On the table of books sit two beautiful photo collages, handmade for Tracy and Kristen by their sister, Heidi.
